We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for financial support to help us build the Pitbull911 Rescue Center – the only shelter in Ukraine dedicated to saving bull-type breeds from war zones.
Since the war began, the number of abandoned and homeless animals has grown dramatically. But for bull-type breeds — pit bulls, staffies, amstaffs — the chances of survival are close to none. Municipal shelters refuse to take them in, influenced by a deep-rooted fear of so-called “killer dogs.”
This is a lie and slander.
Pit bulls were originally bred in the 1840s to be nannies and family guardians. They are intelligent, calm, loyal, and kind. We see this every day in our work.
At Pitbull911, we rescue, rehabilitate, treat, and train these misunderstood dogs. Many of them go on to become canine therapists, helping children with special needs, war veterans, and people suffering from PTSD. We don’t just rescue dogs — we rebuild lives, both human and canine.
Our dream is to build a proper Pitbull911 Rescue Center:
• with enough space for every dog we save
• a quarantine area
• a veterinary room
• play zones
• and a facility for canine therapy sessions
